We are pleased to report a positive outcome from the recent licensing hearing regarding the proposed new off-licence on Eden Street. The Licensing Committee carefully considered the application alongside objections raised by the Metropolitan Police and concluded that granting the licence would undermine the Public Spaces Protection Order (PSPO) at Eagle Brewery Wharf and exacerbate existing issues at Memorial Gardens. This decision reflects a firm commitment to safeguarding our community spaces, reducing anti-social behaviour, and maintaining a safe and welcoming environment for residents and visitors alike. It demonstrates the effectiveness of partnership working between local authorities and the police to uphold public safety and protect the character of Kingston Town Centre. |
